Advisory Group to Recommend Priorities for the IARC Monographs during 2025–2029
Lyon, France
19–22 March 2024
CALL FOR NOMINATION OF AGENTS
CLOSING DATE: 30 NOVEMBER 2023
IARC encourages the general public, the scientific community, national health agencies, and other organizations to nominate agents for review in future IARC Monographs. Nominations may include chemicals, mixtures, occupations, physical agents, biological agents, lifestyle factors, and any other agent suspected of causing cancer in humans.
Agents will be selected for review based on: (a) evidence of human exposure; and (b) evidence or suspicion of carcinogenicity.
In addition, for an agent evaluated in a previous monograph, consideration will be given as to: (c) whether there is new evidence of cancer in humans or experimental animals, or mechanistic evidence to warrant re-evaluation and review of the current classification; and (d) if the agent was previously established to be carcinogenic to humans (Group 1), whether there is new evidence of cancer in humans that indicates a possible causal association with additional tumour sites.
To nominate an agent for review, please complete the online nomination form (one agent per form) and a declaration of interests for yourself.
Please contact IARC at priorities@iarc.who.int for further information
